AI systems are expected to increasingly take autonomous decisions, often well-hidden from view. This development is not necessarily without danger. In this presentation Jaochim Ganseman will give you a high-level overview of some common pitfalls in AI-powered applications: snares and snags that require more thought than many AI gurus would admit. Legal pitfalls in data governance

Data has become a core asset in our digital economy. Yet, the legal status of data is still unclear. The GDPR sheds some light on the specific category of “personal data”, but what about non-personal data? If law does not regulate ‘data’ as such, then how do participants in the data economy need to behave? Which claims to the data does the creator of data have? And what are the rights and obligations of a data recipient or of an operator who is interested in getting access to data? And how can contracts help to bring clarity in all this. In this keynote, Erik will address some of these questions and pitfalls in data governance.
